Here are a few more images of my walk along the railroad tracks on the west end of Downey—just north of Firestone. Although the houses are built relatively close to the tracks, there is quite a bit of vegetation that offers an appealing look.
Some of the plants are odd and prickly up close, but they help to separate the houses from the tracks. It makes this side of the tracks seem more friendly somehow.
