Went out for a walk with my wife and passed this guy on a ladder picking something out of this tree. I stopped and asked him what he was doing and he said that he was picking gwachuie out of the tree. I'm sure I spelled it incorrectly but it is a Mexican sweet nut similar to the pistachio. His name is Crispan and I thought, "Here is something else that happens in Downey. Folks enjoying the fruit of the land."
