There is an area in Downey called "The Island." It is an area split by two riverbeds. On the edge of the Island is Treasure Island Park.
The city is currently working on an improvement project for the park that runs along the Rio Hondo River. We took a long walk to explore and see what had changed.It's a great improvement. Can't wait until it is done!
I remember them building the houses on the island and then riding my bike around the island and when they made the first park there! Thanks for this web site
