"I was born in El Salvador on March 15, but my ID has July 17. You see, when you ask me about my birthday, the question is which one? My family always makes fun of me. My wife will say, 'So, which one are we celebrating this year, the real birthday or the fake birthday?'
"The reason for all this is because back home in El Salvador, I immigrated when I was 7 years old, we came from a very small town. When a baby was born you had to go to the capital to register that baby. Or else you would get fined if you did not do it on time. After my birth on March 15, my father didn't go to the capital until July 17. He registered me as being born then so he wouldn't get fined."
