I was on my way home from school on the 10 freeway (about 10 miles from Downey) a couple of days ago when it started to rain. The light had such an odd quality. The buildings looked bright and bluer than usual. I shot this really quickly with my cell phone, not knowing if I had even aimed it straight. But when I looked at it later at home, I liked the image. It is as if this big group of clouds has converged on the city. There was thunder, even though I didn't see the lightning.
It reminded me of an Irish blessing I read some time ago...
"May God give you...for every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer."
